Having watched a seemingly endless array of Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio reviews, it’s safe to say that Alfa’s return to the sports sedan market has been a success, at least from a driving standpoint.

A question mark still lingers over reliability, but the Italian can give its German sedan rivals a run for their money on a racetrack. However, is the Giulia just as impressive as the prized Mercedes-AMG C63 S Coupe Edition 1?

Evo Magazine’s Steve Sutcliffe hit a circuit to find out and off the bat, it is pretty obvious that Alfa Romeo has done a fabulous job creating the Quadrifoglio.

Sutcliffe mentions that its traction is far superior to the AMG’s and that the Alfa’s eight-speed ZF automatic transmission is more predictable than the dual-clutch of the Merc. Like the Ferrari’s it shares some DNA with, the Alfa also features an ultra-fast steering rack.

To our eyes, both cars look stunning but thanks to the C63’s two-door design, we think it just edges out the Alfa in the looks department. Fingers crossed a Giulia Coupe becomes a reality in the not too distant future.
