Thanks to this lighter camouflaged 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 prototye, we can see that the future flagship of the A-Class range will be wearing the automaker’s Panamericana grille.

Unlike previous testers, this one is also wearing AMG wheels, while giving us a small taste of what that aggressive front bumper will look like once the camouflage comes off.

At the front, we can almost see the large air intakes, while the rear spoiler is leaving plenty of room for a diffuser. Overall, the car looks wide, low and very planted, and will almost certainly feature quad exhaust tips and a rear wing once it’s ready.

The all-new A45 is believed to be powered by a reworked version of Mercedes’ M133 2.0-liter turbocharged unit, tuned to somewhere north of 400 HP.

With more available power, a nine-speed dual-clutch gearbox, as well as a standard all-wheel drive system, the A45 AMG could hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 4 seconds, which in turn would make it faster than the previous iteration, as well as its Audi RS3 rival.

The 2019 Mercedes-AMG A45 is expected in late 2018, so unfortunately, we’ve still got some waiting to do.
