The newest member of Land Rover’s lux Range Rover family, the Velar, has confirmed its safety credentials by earning top marks at Euro NCAP’s tests.

The fourth member of the British brand’s family scored 93 percent for Adult Occupant protection, 85 percent for Child Occupant protect, 74 percent for Pedestrian protection, and 72 percent for Safety Assist.

Its comprehensive suite of safety features that include the Autonomous Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, was well appreciated by the safety specialist’s technicians. The SUV can also be had with Reverse Traffic Detection, Lane Keep Assist, Driver Condition Monitor, Intelligent Speed Limiter, Traffic Sign Recognition, and Matrix-Laser LED headlights.

“For Velar customers, only the best is good enough, and we are delighted the fourth Range Rover has been awarded five-star safety credentials. This, combined with excellent residual values and stunning design, really seat Velar out as a car that appeals to the heart and the head”, commented JLR’s UK Managing Director, Jeremy Hicks.

Unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the Range Rover Velar fills the gap between the Evoque and Sport, and can already be ordered globally. Prices for the SUV start from £44,830 ($59,395) in the United Kingdom, while in the USA it can be had from $49,900.
