A set of internal slides was leaked online, revealing some of the hardcore Ferrari 488’s juicy details.

The slides, originally posted by Ferrari Photo Page and sourced from a private viewing of the car, reveal that the so-called 488 GTO will be powered by an evolution of the V8 engine found in the 488 Challenge race car, making it the most powerful V8 model in the history of the brand with at least 700hp.

The engine is also going to be 10 percent lighter than the stock twin-turbo 3.9-liter V8 in the 488 GTB and offer a “unique track-like sound” as well as represent the highest power increase against the donor car for a special Ferrari V8 model.

The bodywork will be significantly revised -as seen in a spy shot of a completely naked car-, offering a 20 percent aerodynamic efficiency improvement over the regular model and will have the front hood, front bumper, rear spoiler and rear bumper fully made out of carbon fiber.

Other information includes a set of carbon fiber wheels that according to the slides will be 40 percent lighter over the standard car’s alloy rims, a rear diffuser that’s inspired from the GTE race car, a new Sideslip Management System which is Ferrari’s advanced traction and stability control system, an “extremely direct” steering ratio and a new Race gearshift strategy.

We still don’t know if Ferrari is going to use the iconic ‘GTO’ nameplate on the new hardcore 488 but we do know that the successor of the much-loved 458 Speciale will debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
