We haven’t heard much about the BMW M5 CS lately, but spy photographers have caught the model undisguised will being loaded onto a truck.

Only the back of the car is visible, but the high-performance sedan has been equipped with a larger rear spoiler and “M5 CS” badging on the trunk. The model also sports a matte paint job and bronze wheels which are backed up by a high-performance braking system with red calipers.

The M5 CS is based on the current M5 and not the facelifted variant which can be seen partially blocking the limited edition model. This is interesting as it suggests the pre-facelift model will be sticking around for awhile.

Little is known about the M5 CS, but the model is slated to be more extreme than the M5 Competition. If the M3 and M4 CS are any indication, we can expect a carbon fiber front splitter, a carbon fiber reinforced plastic hood and a specially tuned M sports exhaust system.

The weight saving measures should continue in the cabin as the M3 and M4 CS had lightweight door panels and lightweight M sports seats. We can also expect leather and Alcantara upholstery as well as special trim and CS badging.

Other upgrades should include a sportier suspension and an upgraded twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engine. There’s no word on performance specs, but the car should have more power than the M5 Competition which is rated at 617 hp (460 kW / 625 PS) and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of toque.

While rumors had suggested the M5 CS could debut with an all-new V8 engine, that seems highly unlikely as the same report implied the engine was still 2-3 years away. Given the car looks production ready, we wouldn’t be surprised if it debuts in a few months.
