The Aston Martin DBS Superleggera is an absolute beast, as Matt Farah from The Smoking Tire recently discovered during a drive of the car.
Introduced as the successor to the Vanquish, the DBS Superleggera is based around the DB11 but is a much more performance-focused machine. It features a twin-turbocharged 5.2-liter V12 engine that’s been modified up to 715 hp (725 PS) and 663 lb-ft (900 Nm) of torque. This engine is so capable that some aftermarket specialists have already lifted it up to beyond 900 hp with just a tune alone.
Aston Martin quotes a 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time of 3.4 seconds, while the sprint to 100 mph (160 km/h) takes just 6.4 seconds. Given enough room, the DBS Superleggera will hit 211 mph (339 km/h). This engine has so much horsepower and torque that it doesn’t actually deploy all of its power until fourth gear.

One figure of the DBS Superleggera that isn’t so appealing is the weight. Motor Trend recently weighed the car and found it tips the scales at just over 4,000 lbs (1,814 kg.) This comes despite the fact that Superleggera means ‘super light’ in Italian. As Farah mentions in his review, it’s easy to feel this weight when hustling the car around tight canyon roads.
The exterior and interior designs of the car are almost faultless. Aston Martin has a rich history of designing some truly stunning cars and the DBS Superleggera is no exception. From the outside, it appears much more aggressive than the DB11 while in the cabin it is also much more luxurious.
