Following the strike against GM a fortnight ago, UAW (United Auto Workers) went on strike against Chrysler LLC today after marathon negotiations between the union and the money-loosing American carmaker failed to produce a tentative agreement on a new labour contract. According to a report from Automotive news, the strike will affect around 49,000 UAW-represented Chrysler employees at 31 U.S. factories and technical centers while it is expected that Chrysler’s Canadian plants will also be affected within 24 hours as parts run dry.
