The upcoming sixth-generation of the Volkswagen Golf (called Rabbit in the States) has been caught on film while performing test runs. Despite the camouflage, it looks like VW’s designers followed a more evolutionary rather revolutionary styling for the Golf VI, meaning that the 2009 model will most probably look a lot like the current version.

Engine options will include a wide range of turbocharged gasoline units including the 1.4 TSI, 1.8 TSI and the 2.0 TFSI and of course, VW’s 1.9 and 2.0 TDI turbo-diesel motors combined with manual and DSG (twin-clutch gearbox) transmissions. The next-generation Golf will reach European dealerships in late 2008, but Americans will most likely have to wait until late-2009 or early-2010. -Spy Video after the jump
