For the 2009 model year, BMW is updating its V10-powered M5 Sedan / Touring and M6 Coupe / Cabriolet models with the introduction of the new generation iDrive that includes a redesigned controller with direct-dial buttons on the center console and a high-resolution 8.8 inch display. Furthermore, all four “M” models feature a new navigation system that allows a full-screen map display. BMW has also replaced the external mirrors on both the M5 and M6 models with new ones that feature an enlarged field of view.
