Very rarely do normal folks like us have the chance to spot a prototype model rolling around in a populated area like Detroit. However, Jalopnik’s Ben Wojdyla stuck gold when a slightly camouflaged 2010 Shelby GT500 Convertible came to a halt alongside his car at a stoplight in Detroit suburb of Royal Oak. As you can see in the picture above, the new Shelby GT500 which is based on the recently introduced 2010 Mustang for details and 72 high-res pics, click here– gets a more aggressive bodykit that includes a redesigned hood with double air-vents as well as new alloy wheels. The 2010 Shelby GT500 in both convertible and coupe forms is expected to make its premiere at the forthcoming Detroit Show in mid-January.
