In March, Audi invited members of the press to test drive the new RS3 Sportback on the roads of the Principality of Monaco. Not surprisingly, some of the journalists filmed their encounter with the smallest and most affordable RS model ever produced by Audi on the twisty mountain roads of the principality.

As a refresher, the RS3 Sportback sports the same 2.5-liter turbocharged five-cylinder unit found on the TT RS Coupe and Roadster models, with power being transferred to all four wheels through Audi’s quattro system and a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

With 340-horsepower and 450 Nm (331.90 lb-ft) of peak torque available on tap, the RS3 completes the standard 0-62mph (100km/h) sprint in 4.6 seconds en route to an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).

The base price of the new RS3 in Germany set at €49,900 (approx US$70,600 at today’s exchange rates).
