German aftermarket companies have recently stepped up their efforts to outdo each other in modifying the most luxurious proposals in the large sedan segment.

After the 720HP BMW 750Li from Tuninwerk that we told you about earlier today, Hofele Design has presented a similar but less powerful tuning package for the latest Audi A8 saloon [D4 series]. The German company’s offering is called “SR 8” and it includes both styling and performance modifications.

The A8’s exterior receives a new body kit that consists of a complete front bumper with RS5 mesh inserts for the grille, a newly shaped rear apron with a diffuser and space for quad tailpipes, side skirts and a boot lid spoiler.

As an option, Hofele Design offers carbon-fibre accents for the mirror housing and the rear diffuser.

On the inside, the tuning house has dressed the A8 in two-tone leathers with contrasting stitching while some parts of the interior are covered in Alcantara.

The German limo rides on a new set of five-spoke alloy wheels available in sizes 20-, 21- and 22-inches, while Hofele Design also added an electronic lowering module that allows the driver to adjust the ride height at speeds of up to 70km/h (44mph).

Under the hood, the tuner offers an ECU upgrade that lifts the 4.2-liter V8 petrol engine’s output from 372HP to 390HP, and the 4.2-liter diesel from 350HP to 390HP.
