Infiniti is treading on…BMW M3 waters with its new 2013 IPL G Convertible, pricing of which was announced today after the car’s North American debut at last year’s LA Auto Show.

The 348 horsepower Infiniti Performance Line (IPL) G Convertible joins the existing coupe model and carries an MSRP of $60,600, excluding a destination and handling fee of $895 (*).

That puts in direct competition with the $60,800 BMW 335is Convertible that’s motivated by a 320hp turbocharged inline-six, while both models are priced very close to the BMW M3 Convertible, which at $68,750, offers a much more powerful V8 engine with 414hp.

Aside from the tuned 3.7-liter V6 engine linked to a 7-speed automatic transmission, the IPL G Convertible also gets a sports-tuned exhaust and suspension, and 19-inch alloy wheels.

The hardtop convertible model is available with either a Stone or Monaco Red leather-appointed interior set against a choice of just two exterior colors, Malbec Black or Moonlight White.

Together with the IPL G Convertible, Infiniti also announced pricing for the rest of the G Coupe and Convertible models, with the base MSRP of the G37 Coupe increasing by $2,000 to $39,800, again excluding a destination and handling fee of $895.
