Normally, there would be no point in asking if a Ferrari model can drift, but then again, Maranello brand’s new FF supercar isn’t your typical Ferrari.

For starters, it comes with standard four-wheel drive (a first for a Ferrari model), which isn’t an ideal setup for powerslides, and then there’s the fact that the four-seater, shooting brake-style Ferrari weighs in at close to two tonnes.

On the other hand, the Italians have fitted the FF with an insanely powerful 6.3-liter V12 engine capable of delivering a peak output of 651bhp (660PS) at a screeching 8,000 rpm and 683 Nm (504 lb-ft) of maximum torque at 6,000 rpm, coupled to a 7-speed F1 DCT transmission.

To see if the FF can throw around its rear end and lift up some smoke, Autocar magazine’s Steve Sutcliffe took the Ferrari out for a special test drive.

You can watch how it went in the video below the jump.
