After Sandy Came the Tow Truck Disaster for this Bentley Continental GTC

Last week’s hurricane and then super-storm Sandy took its toll on cars in the Northeastern U.S., with the National Automobile Dealers Association estimating that as many as 200,000 vehicles may have been damaged or completely destroyed.

As is usually the norm in these situations, bad news for some means good business for others, such as towing companies in the affected areas that are summoned to clean up the mess left by Sandy, or in some cases, put the final nail in the coffin for damaged vehicles…

Like this towing operator who was captured on film dragging a Bentley Continental GTC convertible that could cost as much as $200,000 on the used car market, depending on its condition, on the dry streets of New York.

The poster of the video on YouTube, nicknamed “ag32k1”, explains: “Being dragged down the West Side Highway on Wednesday. The headlights were half full of water.”

Did we mention that the Continental GTC is all-wheel drive and as such, it should either be placed on a flatbed trailer to keep all four wheels off the ground or if that’s not an option, at least employ the use of tow dollies on the front wheels to avoid damaging the transmission?

Well, remember that when you discover that dirt-cheap, black GTC on eBay in the following weeks….

As a bonus clip, we have also added a non-neck-twisting version of the Bentley Continental GTC (think it’s the same car?) filmed trying to pass through waist-deep water in New York last week.
