The Volkswagen Group’s luxury division Audi announced on Monday that its worldwide deliveries from January through November were up 12.7 percent at 1,344,750 cars and thus has already exceeded last year’s record sales after 11 months of the current year.

In November, the brand with the four rings continued to grow at a double-digit rate with sales up 10.9 percent on the same month last year to around 123,600 automobiles.

While the carmaker has seen its sales drop in several major European markets such as France (-0.1%), Italy (-16.7%) and Spain (-9.9%), overall and from the beginning of the year, Audi has reported a 3.5% increase in deliveries in Europe.

In all other regions around the world, Audi has achieved significant gains most notably in Russia (+45.8%), the U.S. (+18.6%) and especially China where the automaker saw its sales grow 30.7% to 370,559 units.

Audi noted it expects to increase its foothold in the U.S.

“We are experiencing strong demand in the United States: Audi is growing clearly faster than the U.S. market as a whole, especially in the prestigious full-size class,” stated Audi board member, Luca de Meo. “We will massively expand our successful U.S. diesel range into the full-size class next year with TDI clean diesel versions of the A6, A7 and A8.”
