If you’re looking for a battery-powered unit under the hood of Cam Shaft’s newest project car based on the VW Golf R Mk6, you’ll be disappointed to learn that the name refers to its “shocking” appearance and not its powerplant.

Then again, you may be happy to know that the German tuner made some changes to the Golf R’s 2.0-liter force-fed engine, boosting its output from 267hp (270PS) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft) of peak torque to 321hp (325PS) and 430Nm (317 lb-ft) respectively.

A new braking system from Tarox together with sport springs from H&R and black Ultraleggera wheels with orange accents from OZ, complete the performance upgrades.

And if you’re still wondering where the VW Golf R Electrified got its name from, it’s the foil wrap that covers its body and which is called “Electric Orange”.
