Remember the Gumpert Tornante concept from last year’s Geneva Motor Show? To refresh your memory, Gumpert joined forces with Italian design house and coachbuilder Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera for the creation of the Tornante study powered by a reworked Audi-sourced 4.2-liter V8 biturbo engine pushing out 700-horses.

In the time that passed between then and now, Gumpert was ready to file for bankruptcy after failing to find a new owner but managed to come back to life and has already begun building vehicles.

The drawings of the Tornante you see here were recently filed with the trademark office (and not leaked, as some sources suggested) by Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera itself and not Gumpert.

Compared to last year’s concept, the design has been reworked with changes including a new front bumper that gets a smaller central grille and new opening right below, the repositioning of the side air-inlets behind the doors, while louvered vents replace the rear window and also make their appearance on the profile.

Furthermore, the concept’s rear end has been completely redesigned featuring new lights and a bumper.

At this point, we do not know if Gumpert has plans to produce the car, but if it does, we could see it as early as next March at the 2013 Geneva Salon.
