Chrysler has revealed a new special edition version of its 300 sedan dedicated and named after Detroit’s Motown record label, in advance of its world premiere at next month’s 2013 North American International Auto Show.

The carmaker also released a new 60-second commercial for the new 300 Motown Edition titled “Who We Are” featuring none other than Motown founder and Detroit native Berry Gordy.

“Berry Gordy is a true inspiration and has paved the way to signify the sound and the drive that reflects the spirit of Detroit and the people who live in it,” commented Olivier Francois, Chrysler’s Chief Marketing Officer. “It is a privilege to have such a legendary icon partner with the Chrysler brand and the 300 Motown Edition.”

On the outside, the limited run 300 sedan sports chrome front and rear fascia accents, mirror caps, door handles and daylight-opening surround, along with a unique Mopar bright chrome grille and 20-inch polished alloy wheels. The Motown Edition can be had in the following exterior colors: Bright White, Gloss Black, Deep Cherry Red and a new Jazz Blue.

In the cabin, the Motown model is dressed in Pearl White Nappa leather seats with black piping and accent stripes, while Piano Black trims are to be found on the center stack, instrument panel, steering wheel, gauge cluster and door panel elements, along with Black Olive Ash wood trim and satin silver finished accents.

As a special treat, Chrysler has loaded 100 tracks from original Motown recording artists on the Uconnect 8.4’s SD card reader.

The 2013 Chrysler 300 Motown is offered exclusively with a 292hp 3.6-liter V6 connected to an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Sales will start next spring with an MSRP of $32,995, excluding $995 destination charge.
