After its world premiere at last year’s Los Angeles Auto Show, the Chevrolet Spark EV’s next stop is the Geneva motor show, where it will be displayed for the first time in front of a European audience.

GM’s all-electric mini will be sold in select European markets (in other words, countries that have the necessary infrastructure to support EVs) starting from 2014.

The Spark’s propulsion system includes an electric motor that produces 130-horsepower (110kW) and a whopping 542 Nm of torque (400 lb-ft) that enables 0-100 km/h (62mph) acceleration in under 8.5 seconds, and a battery pack that can be charged using both regular alternate current (AC) and direct current (DC) fast charging.

With DC fast charging, the battery can be charged up to 80 percent of its capacity in approximately 20 minutes, while AC recharging requires between 6 and 8 hours, using a 230V outlet. A charge cord set will come as standard.
