You know that a replacement is near when luxury carmakers begin churning out special edition models. In the UK, Mercedes-Benz is preparing for the arrival of the next S-Class by offering customers incentives to choose the current model via the AMG Sport Edition, which features enhanced specification and is priced from £69,995 on the road.

On the outside, the new British-market S 350 BlueTEC AMG Sport Edition is distinguished by the AMG body styling with front and rear aprons plus subtle sill extensions, a set of 20-inch AMG wheels and painted brake callipers with Mercedes-Benz lettering.

Stepping into the cabin, passengers are greeted by illuminated door sills and then an electric panoramic glass sunroof, Black Ash Wood trim, a wood- and leather-trimmed steering wheel, studded sports pedals finished in stainless steel, and AMG-branded floor mats.

Added equipment features include a reversing camera and Keyless Go, plus a Harmon Kardon Front Seat Entertainment system, complete with Split View, 14 speakers and additional amplifiers, a set of headphones, remote control, and DAB digital radio.

Mercedes said that the S 350 BlueTEC AMG Sport Edition can also be had with an £11,493 deposit and £499 monthly payments spread across 24 months.
