While we were checking out Mitsubishi’s CA-MiEV hatchback and GR-HEV pickup truck concepts at the Geneva motor show, the Japanese carmaker announced the global debut of a new concept for a sub-compact sedan named the G4 at the upcoming 34th Bangkok International Motor Show (March 25 through April 7).

Mitsubishi isn’t ready to share a lot of information on the G4 study yet, but from what we understand, it will be based on the new Mirage five-door hatchback that’s already on sale in a number of countries around the world and which will also arrive in the States this fall.

From the single teaser sketch released by Mitsubishi, it looks like the G4 bears some styling similarities up front with the CA-MiEV concept.

According to the automaker, the G4 is powered by a lightweight and compact 1.2-liter MIVEC engine mated to a CVT, which is likely the same 79hp drivetrain found in the Mirage.
