Maserati's New Lounge Chair Somehow Pays Tribute to New Quattroporte

Designers can be a funny bunch sometimes, seeing things that ordinary people will likely never notice. What would you say if we were to tell you that this black leather lounge chair was directly inspired and conceived as an homage to the new Maserati Quattroporte? Read on, think about it, and then tell us your opinion in the comments.

Created by Maserati and Zanotta, a design-driven furniture and furniture accessories brand from Italy, the “Maserati Lounge Chair by Zanotta” is a limited edition production piece that was previewed in Milan at the International Furniture Fair 2013.

The project was initially conceived by designers, Ludovica and Roberto Palomba, and penned by Marco Tencone at the Centro Stile Maserati (Maserati Style Centre) under the direction of Lorenzo Ramaciotti.

According to the Italian carmaker, “the harmonious, dashing lines of the Maserati Quattroporte were analysed, broken down, reproduced and reinterpreted by the Palombas until the shape of the Maserati Lounge Chair by Zanotta emerged, opening the seat to enter a new dimension  making it the star of all time for its imagination, memory and thought.”
