Take a Look at the History of Morgan, Which Remains Family-Owned to This Day

There are very few cars one can buy today that genuinely have a proper heritage behind them, backing up their credentials. Sure, you could argue that progress is inevitable and that the more technology you put into a car, the better and more advanced it is, so it’s more desirable. That is partly true, but if you take a look at the history of the Morgan Motor Company, you’ll see that there is another way. Being a family-owned automaker from day one, it would have been a shame for them to become another British sub-brand of BMW, for instance, and thus alter the image of the brand in a detrimental way, diluting the meaningfulness of the name and scaring away the really passionate enthusiasts – replacing them with regular car buyers. The video posted after the jump, from Genes Reunited, tells the tale of Morgan’s history, who ran it and for how long, and what they plan to do in the future, in order to stay relevant, through the voice of Martyn Webb, who is the company’s archivist and museum curator.By Andrei Nedelea
