Saleen has just taken the wraps off their 351 Supercharged Mustang in prototype form, at the Fabulous Fords show at Knott’s Berry Farm in Southern California. With a striking paint finish, called “Orange County Orange”, which is unique to the car, a custom body kit, special alloy wheels and a revised interior, this Mustang really looks the part.

Power comes from a V8 engine, but aside from the fact that it’s supercharged and has an output of 700-horsepower, information on the unit was not available. More details will be revealed by Saleen “at a later date” (still it won’t match this…).

The new Saleen 351 was announced back in November of 2012, at the LA motor show, but aside from a rendering they released, they did not make a big deal out of the development of the car. However, now that this pre-production/prototype has been shown, it’s clear they have moved the project along.
