If you’re into cars, and you appreciate a vehicle for its design prowess, then you will undoubtedly have a few Jaguars on your favorite cars list. There is a very high likelihood for those models to be old ones, from the 1950s and 1960s, but Jaguar still makes pretty cars.

One of the main reasons for this is Ian Callum, which is the brand’s design boss. Now, he’s been invited on MotorTrends Wide Open Throttle web show, where he answers questions and generally shares insight into the philosophy behind their latest product, the F-Type, a car some have been waiting for over two decades.

Clearly a very knowledgeable designer and highly-experienced, he has a very diplomatic and yet informative reply to each of the questions, knowing when to draw the line without making his answer seem restrained. He talks about the Jaguar philosophy to design, as well as his very own, going into some detail on both accounts. Also, Mr. Callum says he’s not just into car design, and that he’s currently designing his very own watch, a process which he calls “exciting.”
