If by any chance you were wondering where exactly Mercedes-Benz plans to hold the world premiere event for its brand-new S-Class this Wednesday, May 15, in Hamburg, Germany, the presentation will take place at the Airbus A380 Delivery Centre.

We’ll remind you that the double-decker A380 is world’s largest passenger airliner with 49 percent more floor space than the Boeing 747-8 that comes in second place.

“The new S-Class is the epitome of a modern luxury sedan and Hamburg is the perfect place to showcase it to the world,” said Joachim Schmidt, Member of Mercedes-Benz Cars, Sales & Marketing. “The port of Hamburg is a symbol of Germany’s export strength and success of German products around the world. In addition, it has developed into the most important European hub for trade with China – the main market for the new S-class. ”

Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler released a few more interesting facts about Hamburg, which is Germany’s second largest city and the sixth largest in the European Union, with a city population of 1.8 million (5 million total for the metro area). It has the highest per capita income, and is considered the richest city in Germany. Around 440 Chinese companies have set up branches as well as their European headquarters in Hamburg – more than in any other city in the Old Continent.

The new S-Class regular and long-wheelbase sedans, which have been previewed through official and unofficial channels over the past few weeks, are expected to launch onto the market later this year.
