We’d all love to own a car with over 500 hp, and drive it every day – there are lots of vehicles to choose from which fit these two criteria, at increasingly affordable prices. However, the danger is that you won’t have anywhere to really drive them, aside from a racetrack, which requires booking and is not necessarily cheap.

There are those, though, who like to buy these high-performance machines and drive them very hard on the street, through traffic, pretty much regularly and they also have a knack of getting some of their drives on video. Just check out this relaxing drive through New York City, shot from aboard a BMW M5 E60, which is chasing a Ferrari F430 Scuderia, through traffic and busy intersections, at night.

Sure, it must be a blast to go on such a drive, but with so many excellent driving games coming up, it’s really just worth waiting for a few months, buying a next-gen console for a few hundred bucks and getting a few games. If you get the latest LED TV and racing wheel plus seat assembly, you are promised an very realistic experience.

I say, keep this style of driving in the virtual world, and even if you own a BMW M5 with a V10 engine, don’t drive it quickly on a road with sidewalks and people, no matter how skilled you think you are behind the wheel. When you get brash, you get caught up, and at the speeds these cars can and do reach very quickly, you may end up taking an entire soccer team with you…
