Following the launch of the Cross Up! earlier this year, Volkswagen is adding yet another new member to its family of minis with the Groove Up!, a special edition model that brings a Fender sound system for the first time in VW’s smallest model. The audio system, already known from the Beetle in the U.S., has been specifically tailored for the Up! and has a power output of 300 watts.

It comes with six speakers – two tweeters with neodymium magnets and premium fabric dome in the A-pillars, two woofers with a honeycomb reinforced plastic membrane in the front doors and two full-range speakers in the rear. The system also includes a dual voice coil subwoofer located in the spare wheel space.

The Groove Up! stands out due to its orange paint, the “Upsilon” 16-inch alloy wheels, contrasting exterior mirror accents and tinted windows.

On the inside, special touches include the use of leather on the handbrake lever, steering wheel and shift lever, with the orange stitching matching the car’s paint. The seats feature “Groove” upholstery, aluminum door tread plates and orange accents for the dashboard and center console.

The VW Groove Up! is powered by the same 1.0-liter 3-cylinder gasoline engine available in two power versions – 60 PS (59 hp) and 75 PS (74 hp) as the other Up! models. The starting price for the Groove Up! in Germany  is €13,775 ($18,320).
