If next week’s Honda Indy 200 (August 4) at Mid-Ohio where Acura will unleash a running prototype of the new generation NSX feels like an eternity away, then you just might appreciate the fact that the Japanese carmaker has published a short video teaser of the car on the track.

While we won’t blame those of you who are fed up and can’t stand any more teasing, be aware that this new clip does offer us the first sounds of the production vehicle’s mid-mounted V6 engine that’s linked to Acura’s new three electric motor Sport Hybrid SH-AWD (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) system, so you may just cave in – this time…

Acura and parent company Honda will continue the development of the second generation NSX for another 18 months, with the production and sales of the U.S.-made sports car to begin sometime in 2015.
