Just because the Murcielago has run its course as a model and has been replaced by a newer and more modern Lamborghini V12 supercar, the Aventador, doesn’t mean we’re any less saddened when one of the 4,099 examples built bites the dust.

This white Lamborghini Murciélago LP640, which was the newer and more powerful version of the series with a 640PS (631hp) 6.5-liter V12 – see the video below the break to refresh your memory, left its last sonorous breath on the side of a road in Oostende, Belgium.

The crew from WreckedExotics, who posted these images, reported that, “the driver was cut off by another car, then he lost control and ended up in the ditch” but fortunately, no one was injured.
