Skoda has released pricing information for the UK market version of the fastest series production Octavia ever, the new vRS that will make its world debut at this weekend’s 2013 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Available in liftback and estate body styles, on-the-road prices for the third generation Octavia vRS range from £22,990 to £25,450. Orders are open now with first deliveries scheduled for August 1.

As with the previous generation, the new Octavia vRS offers buyers the choice of a gasoline or a diesel engine. The 2.0-liter TSI petrol generates 217bhp (220PS) and moves the vRS to 62mph (100km/h) in 6.8 seconds, while topping out at  155 mph (248 km/h). The other engine option is the 2.0-liter TDI diesel with 181bhp (184PS) offering a 0-60mph (96km/h) time of 8.1 seconds and a maximum speed of 145 mph (232 km/h).

Both four-cylinder units are available with the choice of a six-speed manual transmission or a DSG automatic.

Special design traits that try to distinguish the vRS from the regular Octavia models include new bumpers, a subtle aero package, black grille and mirror caps, 18-inch alloy wheels, LEDs on both ends and special exhaust finishers. On the inside, there are body-hugging sport seats with the vRS logo embossed on the headrests, leather steering wheel and transmission shifter, sport pedals, and piano black trim.

Other features worth mentioning include the re-worked chassis set-up with a lowered ride height (12mm hatch, 13mm estate), an Electronic differential lock (XDS) integrated into the electronic stability control (ESC) system and a new progressive steering system that varies the amount of lock required depending on road speed.

Further details on pricing and equipment specification can be found in the list below.
