Skoda Gets Creative with New Campaign for Octavia vRS

Skoda is preparing us for a new 60-second commercial for its just revealed Octavia RS (dubbed vRS in Great Britain) series that will first air on YouTube on Thursday, July 25, with the release of a set of pictures from the ad featuring souped-up versions of an ice cream van, a toy ‘trike, a lawn mower and a barbecue. The VW Group’s Czech subsidiary tells us that the clip will feature a man driving an Octavia vRS through an ‘idealized’ neighborhood where all residents use tuned and styled up variations of everyday objects. Heidi Cartledge, Head of Marketing at Skoda UK comments: “The third generation Octavia vRS is the fastest production model to date so we wanted an advert that would bring to life the idea of enhancing the performance of everyday objects. The specially made props give a tongue in cheek taste of what you could experience if you vRS’d your life.” The new Octavia vRS / RS goes on sale in the UK next week. It is available in both liftback and estate flavors with either a 217hp (220PS) 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol or a 181hp (184PS) 2.0-liter diesel.
