Suzuki Introduces New Five-Door Version of Swift Sport

It’s no Renault Clio RS or Ford Fiesta ST when it comes to performance, but the Suzuki Swift Sport is a good looking, honest and reliable supermini that can serve you well just as long as you don’t have any true “sport” expectations from its 134hp (136PS) 1.6-liter petrol engine. Following Monday’s release of a new 4×4 version of the Swift in the UK, Suzuki today announced the addition of a more practical five-door model to the range of the Swift Sport, which up until now, was offered exclusively in three-door guise. The five-door Swift Sport is available now in Britain for £14,249 or £500 more than the three-door model. A six-speed manual gearbox comes as standard, with Suzuki quoting a 44.1mpg UK combined fuel economy and CO2 exhaust emissions of 147g/km. Like the three-door version, it too comes with bespoke styling cues including sporty bumpers, an aero kit, bigger alloy wheels, twin tailpipes, sport seats and steering wheel, while as a 2013 model, it adds LED type high mounted brake lamp and driver’s window ‘auto up’, along with the availability of a new Boost Blue metallic colour featured on the demo model.
