Not only is the new Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake a looker and to some extent, practical, but in CLS 63 AMG guise, it’s lightning fast as well with the pre-2014MY model’s 5.5-liter bi-turbocharged V8 churning out 518hp (525PS) on the standard version and 550hp (557PS) when equipped with the Performance Package.

Still, that wasn’t satisfactory enough for the tuning crew at Vath who have come out with a comprehensive suite of upgrades improving the car’s performance, while also adding a dab of styling individuality to the mix.

There’s no mention if the V63RS engine kit can be applied to the 2014MY CLS 63 AMG (with  550HP / 557PS and 577HP / 585PS for the regular and “S” versions respectively), but on the original model, the kit that includes a modified turbocharger, cooling system, downpipe-system and ECU upgrade, lifts output to 834hp (846PS) and peak torque to 1,180 Nm (870 lb-ft).

Together with the removal of the speed limiter, Vath’s version of the CLS 63 AMG Shooting Brake can achieve a top speed of 350km/h or 218mph. Not bad at all for what is essentially a luxury station wagon. The engine tune-up alone will cost you €46,172 or approximately US$61,100.

Vath’s bag of goods also includes a suspension package that lowers the ride height by 20 to 40mm, 20-inch alloy wheels in high-performance tires size 265/30ZR20 at the front and 305/25ZR20 at the rear, an upgraded brake system with huge 405mm disks on the front axle, carbon fiber spoilers, rear diffuser and interior trim, plus an available sports steering wheel.
