The last time we had something on the next generation of Mercedes-Benz’s Viano (passenger minivan version) and Vito (commercial van) was in winter of 2012 when our spies nabbed a prototype undergoing testing. Now, the German bloggers at Mercedes-Benz Passion are claiming to have their hands on a pair of allegedly official sketches of the new Viano.

Albeit glamourized and visually more compact in size, the model featured in the exterior drawing looks to be close in design to the camouflaged test car, while the interior sketch suggests that the new Viano’s cabin will be much improved in terms of styling and possibly perceived quality.

The same source states that Mercedes will offer the Viano’s successor with a four-cylinder diesel engine in three states of tune, all linked to a 7-speed automatic transmission, and that the V6 diesel and gasoline options may be dropped from the European lineup, something that the German company has not confirmed.
