When pushing a pre-production car’s limits on a track for testing purposes, mechanical and electric failures, and even human mistakes, are bound to happen. It’s all part of the game, which most of the times, outsiders never have the chance to see.

In a rare instance, a Ferrari fan filming a prototype of the upcoming 900+ HP LaFerrari hybrid supercar undergoing tests on the Fiorano Circuit in Italy, captured an exodus on camera.

“During my visit at Maranello, I filmed this loud LaFerrari testing at Fiorano Circuit, but suddenly something went wrong with the braking system and the car went off the track!,” wrote PHsteve on his YouTube channel. “Immediately after the accident they covered it with a red cloth…other than that you can hear some loud noise from the v12 engine,” he added.
