Unless we’ve been duped (we say this because you can’t always be 100 percent sure and that dark shade on the driver’s mirror looks suspicious), these should be the first official photos of the all-new Audi A3 Cabriolet that scheduled for an online reveal this Sunday, September 8, before it arrives in the flesh at the Frankfurt motor show floors next week for its world premiere.

While the new A3 Cabriolet continues Audi’s theme of applying the same design cues on different size bodies, the outcome is sleek and much better looking and proportioned than the first generation of the series.

That’s due to the fact that the new model is built on the longer A3 Sedan and not the hatchback, like the first generation Cabriolet. An added bonus of the longer platform will be a more generous boot space. What remains the same is the fabric top solution, under which you’ll find room for four passengers.

The engine lineup will resemble that of the latest MQB-platform-based A3 hatch, with a selection of turbocharged gasoline and diesel units, topped out by the sporty S3’s 296hp (300PS) 2.0-liter force-fed four.
