Fast & Furious Team's Emotional Video Tribute to Paul Walker, Universal Halts Film's Production

Aptly titled “A Tribute to Paul Walker”, the team behind Universal’s successful “Fast & Furious” film franchise has released a heart-tugging video on its official YouTube page in memory of the 40-year old actor who died in a tragic accident on November 30, following a crash in a Porsche Carrera GT driven by his friend Roger Rodas. The two-minute video contains scenes of Walker from the Fast and Furious films he played with Skylar Grey’s I’m Coming Home heard in the background. In one of the scenes, Vin Diesel is heard saying, “The most important thing in life will always be the people in this room,” as he holds a beer and salutes the rest of the crew. On the YouTube page there’s a note that reads: “Paul Walker’s family appreciates the outpouring of love and goodwill from his many fans and friends. They have asked, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, that donations please be made to Paul’s charity Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW). Donations can easily be made through their website at” In the meantime, Universal said on Wednesday that it has shut down production of the seventh film of the series for an indefinite period. “Right now, all of us at Universal are dedicated to providing support to Paul’s immediate family and our extended ‘Fast & Furious’ family of cast, crew and filmmakers,” the company said in a statement. “At this time we feel it is our responsibility to shut down production on ‘Fast & Furious 7’ for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.”
