One of the IED Master Team members who worked on the impressive Alfa Romeo Gloria Concept displayed at the 2013 Geneva motor show in March has come up with his own project for a track-focused Nissan sports car with a Barchetta-style body named the Kaze.

The designer is IED Turin Transportation Design graduate, Carlos Palacios from Barcelona, Spain.

“[The] Nissan Kaze (風 ; n. Wind, breeze, gale, gust) is a track day car with a rear mid-engine 6.5L V12,” Palacio told Carscoops. “The main inspiration comes from the Streamline movement of the 40’s and the spirit, technology and passion of Formula 1.”

Palacios said that the Kaze actually started as a real-life project for a racing team from a Spanish university, but they backed out. “When they decided to discard my design, I kept working on it, to create a nice car!” he said.
