Original BMW M3 E30 Meets the All-New M4 Coupe, Plus Preliminary Specs

As it turns out, the first official photos of the 2014 generation BMW M3 sedan and M4 Coupe aren’t the only things leaked about the high-performance cars. A search on YouTube revealed that German magazine Autobild has also shared a video with footage of the M4 and its original predecessor, the M3 E30 (1985-1992), while also releasing final specs on the new model. You can see the footage below, but in regards to the M4’s new twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight six, it is said to be rated at 425hp (431PS) and 550Nm (406 lb-ft), with 400Nm (295 lb-ft) readily available from 3,900 rpm. There are two 0-100km/h (62mph) times listed on the German publication’s site and video, at 4.1 and 4.3 seconds, which we assume are for the optional seven-speed M Double Clutch Transmission and the standard six-speed manual gearbox respectively (we’ll be sure when BMW comes out with the official release).
