With Fiat planning to reduce Lancia to an Italy-only brand with a single nameplate (the Ypsilon), I think we can all agree the brand has no future at all.

Fortunately, Lancia fans can always turn to the brand’s rich past and reminisce about stunning vehicles, such as this Lancia Flaminia Super Sport Zagato from the latest Petrolicious video.

As the name reveals, this model was coachbuilt by Zagato and it was the sportiest of the Flaminia range. Powered by a 154hp 2.8-liter V6 engine with triple two-barrel Weber carburetors, the Flaminia Super Sport had the power to match its sporty yet very elegant looks.

Moreover, it has an aluminum body, so it’s light too. It can easily cruise at 100 mph (161 km/h), meaning it can be driven anywhere, including the highway. Of course, being a 1960s Italian car means it’s not mechanically flawless, but the design more than makes up for its technical shortcomings.

Owner Robert Giaimo says that the Flaminia is very enjoyable and manly to drive, but the real highlight of the car has to be its styling. “You can intellectualize about it. But it just hits you in the stomach – it has soul,” he says.

I don’t think anyone can argue with that, and a quick look at the following video should be enough to convince any skeptic.
