No need to adjust your sets; what you see here isn’t an old prototype of the existing X351-codenamed Jaguar XJ, but a lightly facelifted version that will likely be uncovered before the end of this year.

The exterior makeover looks restrained and is limited to tweaking the car’s fascia, including the grille and front bumper that sports reshaped air intakes, and the rear end with a redesigned bumper with different exhaust housings and pipes.

Some changes to the XJ’s color palette, possibly along with minor trim revisions and fresh alloy wheel designs, can also be expected.

We suspect that, in the markets Jaguar does offer the XJ with 2.0-liter units, it could replace them with the brand’s upcoming and all-new Hotfire four-cylinder petrol and diesel units on the facelifted model, if not directly at launch, later down the line.
