Watching the different winter sports disciplines is definitely entertaining, but it’s nowhere near as much as it could be if it also involved 900hp off-road trucks jumping around. Red Bull hosted the Frozen Rush 2014 event recently, and it’s as spectacular as you might have imagined it to be.
The trucks used are Pro4 racers, the same ones used to participate in the Locas Oil Off-Road Racing and TORC series – I guess you could call them “Baja-style.”
They are perfect for taking on the snowy jumps and twists of the Sunday River Ski Resort, located in the northeasterly (united) state of Maine, with their big wheels and huge amount of suspension travel.
Organizers should really think about turning this into a fully-fledged series of its own and then tour skiing resorts – skiers wouldn’t like it very much, but everybody else would…
Definitely, a pretty impressive spectacle to behold in person, but even in video form it’s a worthwhile watch. Scroll down and check it out after the virtual jump!
