Every time Audi and other VW Group brands improve upon their engine power ratings, ABT Sportsline follows suit with its own tuning packages. For the latest 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four petrol engine found in Audi’s A4, A5 and Q5, ABT has presented a new kit that boosts output by close to 30 percent.

In factory trim, the 2.0 TFSI is rated at 225PS (221bhp) and 350Nm (258 lb-ft). After the German tuner’s own software update for the ECU, the same mill twists out 290PS (286bhp) and 420Nm (310 lb-ft) of peak torque, an increase of 65PS (64bhp) and 70Nm respectively over the regular engine.

“The increase of performance is not only adapted perfectly to the respective model on a dynamometer, thorough testing of the developed engines on the road is part of the service for us as well,” states the company’s CEO and founder Hans-Jürgen Abt.

Those who want to dig deeper into the pockets can combine the power upgrade with a sports exhaust system, aerodynamics package, lowered suspension and bigger alloy wheels in a number of different styles.
