The compact sedan study we came to know as the Suzuki Authentics at last year’s Shanghai Auto Show in China, gained a new name and a different color in its transition to the Maruti Suzuki-badged Ciaz Concept shown at this week’s Delhi Auto Expo in India.

Maruti-Suzuki, which at one point held a market share of more than 50 percent or around 1.5 million annual sales in India, saw its numbers slide to 43 percent last year as foreign brands intensify their efforts.

The C-segment Ciaz previews one of the brand’s upcoming products to improve its hold on the Indian market.

“The SX4 S-Cross and Ciaz are models to expand our product range in future,” Maruti Suzuki India Managing Director and CEO Kenichi Ayukawa told reporters, according to the India Times.
