For the fourth straight year, Cigarette Racing and Mercedes-AMG have reunited at the Miami International Boat Show (February 13-17) with two futuristic ideas, the AMG Vision Gran Turismo Concept car and the 50’ Vision GT Concept boat.
You probably know all there is to know about Mercedes’ one-off concept car developed for the Gran Turismo 6 video game, so we’ll focus on the spectacular one-off boat, which is the most powerful production twin engine performance boat ever developed and built by Cigarette Racing.
Cigarette Racing Team collaborated with Mercedes-AMG and Polyphony Digital Inc. to create one-of-a-kind elements for the Cigarette Racing 50’ Vision GT Concept, including the Alubeam painted exterior and the custom matte black hull and accents.
The boat has twin 1650hp Mercury Racing engines which make it more 300hp more powerful than the standard engines used in the 50’ Cigarette Marauder. Thanks to its lightweight construction, the 50-ft (15-m) long and 8-ft (2.4-m) wide boat is around 1,000-lb (453 kg) lighter than the Marauder and has an estimated top speed of more than 140 mph (225 km/h).
The interior of the 50’ Vision GT Concept features black Alcantara accents, carbon fiber dash panels and silver face gauges, while user interface technologies include Bluetooth, computerized controls, four high-definition displays, and the next generation integration of Garmin and Cigarette navigation and audio. Obviously, all these don’t come cheap: the 50’ Vision GT Concept boat costs $1.5 million (€1.1 million).
