New McLaren P1 Falls Into the Hands and Mouth of Chris Harris

Chris Harris is not the first to drive the most intriguing street-legal racing toy to come out of Britain, since, well, the 1990s when McLaren caught the auto world by surprise with the F1, but he certainly is one of the most favorite reviewers here at Carscoops, so we’re pretty interested to see what he has to say about the new P1.

It’s not an extensive test drive, but rather a first encounter with the P1 that took place on public roads and the Yas Marina Circuit in Abu Dhabi.

You may want to know that, on YouTube, Drive mentions the following: “Fair warning, the McLaren Chris Harris drives in this video is the XP7, the pre-production prototype for P1. The car has had a long life over the past 15 months, driving around the world and clocking over 40,000 hard miles.”

We are fully aware that you dislike spoilers, so we’ll put a stop here and won’t go into any other specific details about Harris’ thoughts on McLaren’s 916PS (903hp) hybrid-supercar of which only 375 examples are planned (you’re too late, all of them have already been spoken for, despite the million dollar price tag), so just scroll down to watch the video.
