Would You Give the Delivery Guy Electronic Access to Your Car? Volvo Says You Should

As long as long as you live in a country where crime rate is low, and trust among the people is commonplace, then Volvo’s new “Roam Delivery” system could save you a lot of hassle. It involves granting delivery services access to your car boot via an electronic key that greatly limits the way in which they can interact.

The tech has been made possible thanks to digital keys that “now make it possible to transform the car into a delivery pickup and drop-off zone.” It was recently trialed on a number of 100 people, 86 of which agreed that it was a time and money saving idea that could even be called environmentally friendly, if you push it a bit.

If you were wondering what prompted Volvo to develop the system, they say “Last year, 60% of people shopping online had problems with the delivery of their item. Research revealed that people across the globe feel increasingly stressed in their daily lives,” and this would help them…
