Dodge says dealers have ordered 2,000 units of the 2014 Challenger R/T Shaker in just four days, which is equivalent to the entire 2014 model year production run. Orders for the performance muscle-car were placed between January 7 and January 10, with first deliveries just starting to arrive.

Introduced at the 2013 SEMA Show in Las Vegas, the 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker is a tribute to the original 1970 Challenger R/T with the Shaker hood. The car features muscle-car styling cues such as the “cold-air grabbing” Shaker with Satin Black center-mounted hood scoop, Satin Black roof, deck-lid stripe graphics and deck-lid spoiler. The car rides on new 20 x 8-inch five-spoke polished-face aluminum wheels with black pockets and a satin “matte” clear coat.

The “Shaker” badge is placed on both sides of the hood scoop as well as under the hood, as is the 5.7-liter Hemi V8 engine producing 375hp and over 400 lb-ft (542 Nm) of torque. “HEMI” fender badges and a new “Challenger” grille badge in classic script complete the exterior styling.

On the inside, the Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker features a unique three-spoke flat-bottom leather-wrapped performance steering wheel with black accent finish and integrated vehicle controls. A “K-Black” painted instrument panel and center-console bezel, as well as performance seats wrapped in Nappa leather and featuring an embroidered “Shaker” logo round out the interior updates.

The Shaker package adds $2,500 to the prices of the Challenger R/T Classic, with prices starting from $36,995 (excluding destination and handling), or $37,495 for the model featuring custom hood-to-tail stripes.
